It’s time to part with one of the most beautiful wheels ever made, in my opinion, as we have a wedding to help fund. This is Norman Hall Whirlwind #986 in cherry. It was designed as a production wheel, so it’s fast. Included are the tensioned lazy kate and distaff, together with 5 large bobbins total. I spent a lot more time admiring it than spinning with it, so it is in pristine condition. The only slight flaw is that the tip of one of the reeds that form the distaff broke off; it still holds in place just fine. The bobbins and flyer went back to Norm recently for a tuneup, and they are working perfectly. You can see more photos at my Flikr site (username saorispirit) in the obvious album.
$3000 firm, + $125 more if you want the coordinating cherry spinner’s chair, made about the same time by someone else (whose name I can’t remember).
I will not ship, but I am willing to drive up to 2 hours from NE Atlanta to meet you, or perhaps farther with additional compensation.
